Top 3 Self-Defense Tools That You Can Use for Personal Safety: This article highlights three everyday objects that can serve as excellent tools for self-defense.

Before we get started, I’d like to share that, honestly, nearly any object can be adapted for self-defense. All it requires is a bit of imagination and the ability to think on your feet!

Pen

PenThe first item I picked is a pen. You can find specially designed self-defense pens available online, and they’ve gained quite a following in the everyday carry (EDC) community. Many of these pens come with additional features like flashlights and glass breakers, but I’m not really into them. I just don’t like their appearance. They look too much like something other than a regular pen, and I doubt they would pass security checks in many locations.

A few of them are so thick that I wouldn’t even consider writing with them, much less carrying one around when I head out.

I use a typical stainless steel ballpoint pen. It writes wonderfully and is refillable. The pen is the F.403, and it’s available for less than $10 on Amazon, making it a more budget-friendly choice than the official EDC pens.

Any stainless steel pen will do the trick! Just make sure to choose one that feels good in your hand, is refillable, and has a handy clip so you can easily attach it to your pocket when you’re on the go.

There are many items that can be adapted and utilized similarly. Essentially, anything you can hold in your hand that has a solid form works.

There are different methods you can try, but fundamentally, you want to apply pressure to your opponent. If you’re familiar with pressure points, that’s a plus! However, just rubbing against a bony area, like the back of their hand when they have you in a bear hug, can work well too.

Deodorant

For my second item, I decided on deodorant, specifically a spray version. In fact, any kind of spray will do, like hair spray for example.

The intention is to use it like pepper spray, which is illegal in several places. If you happen to live in an area where pepper spray is legal, you should definitely check out these keyring models.

Deodorant might not be as strong as pepper spray, but if you spray it in someone’s eyes, it can blur their vision just enough for you to slip away.

Water Bottle

For my third choice, I picked a water bottle. It’s great because you can take it into nearly any building without worrying about security confiscating it. Plus, you can use it like a pen by pressing down on the cap end.

A water bottle filled to the brim can serve as an effective club, or you might choose to squirt water at your o*-ponent’s face, followed by a quick kick to the groin and a hasty retreat.

Conclusion

So, there you have my three favorite everyday items that can serve as self-defense tools! I chose these because they’re nothing out of the ordinary and can be carried almost anywhere. You’ll often see them just hanging around, particularly a pen!
